lpepping thanks! I found the stats for this yr alone to be pretty interesting. It seems like the serious crimes (part one crimes) like robbery, murder, agg assault is happening north of Village apts and north of Northwest Hwy. Can someone tell me would that be due to the area north being less desirable and high crime. What would that area be called if anything?

There used to be some less than desirable apartments directly across Northwest Highway from the Village, but those have been vacated and are in the process of being demolished. Not sure what that area would be called though. There are other complexes further north of there, down behind Super Target that are crime ridden, but that really doesn't affect anything down in the Village area.

Ok thanks awecelot! Well seems like they need more work on the policing aspect of their mission. Seems like robberies are off the chart for the 1st quarter of this year alone.

I remember someone mentioned something about section 8 at Village apts. I plan to call and ask about that but based on the rents it seems like that wouldn't be the case. Not that I am against Section 8 and I do feel that it is needed but I also refuse to live anywhere that allows sec 8 or has income based housing. I am a firm believer in the saying "Pride of Ownership". I feel that in some cases renter mentality is the problem with most complexes. If you don't own something then you are not going to care about it. I am at the point in my life where my tolerance is ZERO when it comes to ignorance. (Guess I am getting old!) I know where I live now is very nice but it's the few that have "renter's mentality" that make it not so nice. We have a gated complex but I can't even count how many times I get home at night from work to see the back gate left open. Or someone's burger king bag of trash on the ground on the street outside the gates.
Some years ago I owned a condo in a rather nice area out here. One, the door couldn't be left open and two, if you tried to jam it so it wouldn't shut you can bet on it being closed 5 mins later. The Owners did not play that there! (Myself included) Again the diff in Pride of Ownership.

Vickery Meadow could totally change in the next few years - besides the huge Timbercreek apartments being torn down, on the other side, Valencia has torn down nearly all the apartments west of Greenville from Walnut Hill up to Royal Lane. And the Park Lane Place development could start a similar trend along Park Lane.
