We'd like people's opinion on adding this design element. We have shorter windows in the front of our house as these are both bathrooms (specifically, the shower). We are considering a brick design to make it appear that the short windows are taller to keep the same visual line of the rest of the windows. The bricks would be laid either horizontal (as with the others) or in a chevron pattern. Some people love the look, while others hate it and would compare this to faux shudders. Looking forward to seeing everyone's thoughts!

The asymmetry of the top rendering is fine. The bottom one looks like you had a window then bricked it up.

I like the first rendering better. If you do go brick absolutely employ a chevron pattern or ask the brick guy for ideas.

I know it's just a rendering but study the roof pitches and intersections..........make sure you won't have spots that will collect leaves, water, scum etc.

Top one looks better IMO. If you really wanted to go for a symmetrical look, just make the window the same size as the other one. I know you said there's a shower there, so you can do privacy glass or frosted glass. We have a very large bay window right where our shower is, and no one can see in while still letting light in.

Maybe your brick guy could something similar to what I did to highlight and fill in an area. Do it with the same color brick so it's not so obvious.

The first short window is fine. However, IMO the two story brick column entrance is very dated (sorry). This was popular in the mid-90s. Can you rethink that?
