Just curious if any of you have received your stimulous payment yet. Especially if you have direct deposit. I'm wondering how close to target the IRS is on getting those out to the public.

I haven't yet. I am supposed to be in the 2nd group considering my social security number (50s). I'm thinking it will come sometime this coming week. I'm still operating on the "believe it when I see it" point of view though.

I was suppose to be in the first group ...I am now operating on the "believe it when I see it" point of view. Hopefully earlier this week, but who knows.

My wife and I won't be getting one. I'm operating in the "tired of the gov't dipping in my pocket" point of view.

I know of two people, one with an ssn ending in "02" who got theirs last Friday.

I too will believe it when I see it.

Um no. It's your money that they took from you in the first place to fund a variety of things that are a waste of money.

Just as your tax refund is not something to celebrate each year because it's your money in the first place that they borrowed from you without paying you interest, this is not "free money." It was yours in the first place and they are simply giving it back to you.

Although it's money taken from people that pay income taxes and given to a smaller pool of people, some of which don't have any income tax burden at all. Just stating a fact.

Taken from people that have enough money that they would have used it to buy something and actually "stimulate" the economy (similar to that dinner on another thread) and not stick it in savings or use it to buy the gas they were going to be buying anyway.
