Hi All ,
We are looking for homes in lantana , tx.
But I am not sure how are the schools in this area .
The property which we are looking at is zoned for harpool middle
And guyer high . My daughter is currently in 7’th grade in a reputed ISD in Dallas
And she is in gifted program and algebra 1 courses in 7’th .
I am not sure how the gifted programs work for transfer students and what are the options for
High school courses .
Also , how is the area in terms of resale and rent values .
Thank you so much in advance in helping this confused parent

IDK if it has any effect on resale but you have a long drive to either of the 35's

I had never heard of Latana...just looked it up. Not sure many people on this board will be familiar with it. Maybe also post on the Ft Worth board..although its pretty far away from both Dallas and Ft Worth.

Lantana is a very family friendly place to live. Two elementary schools in the neighborhood and one middle school. Maybe not easy now, but if you can go visit the school....or at least call the principal's or counselors office for an overview and discuss whatever concerns or needs you and your kids have. You could do the same with Guyer.

I've sold several homes there and everyone I've known that lived there enjoyed it and liked it. It's nice and clean...since HOA takes care of the yards in most neighborhoods. Also several pools and fitness center, tennis, lots of people outside walking, etc. Every time I've been there someone stops to talk about something.

If you're a golfer or want your kids to be golfers, the course is very family friendly and affordable for a private course.

I would not purchase a home in Lantana with the intention of renting it. It is way too off the beaten path to have a demand for rentals. Plus, the prices of the homes are not in the "affordable" range.

I wouldn't do it just because its not really by anything to help with your commute. Also Guyer is not a very friendly school. Im at Ryan HS (awesome school) and they always call us racial slurs and make fun of socioeconomic stuff. There is rampant bullying there too. Other than that, the landscaping in lantana is gorgeous!.
