im very confused as to why so many south asians and muslims live in that area of Irving, when Beth van Duyne (very islamophobic and racist lady) represents that district and used to be the mayor of irving? Could someone please explain??

The technology that exists in an area called Las Colinas which is a major center for fortune 500 companies in TX started the immigration to DFW probably 20 years or more ago. It was ground zero for the Indian community at that time and has spread north into many suburbs. Plus inexpensive apartments and decent school districts.

20 Years ago a CEO with one of the big companies told me he could hire and import from India for half what an American College student wanted out of school. So they started importing the cheap labor for the jobs.

To be honest.

Not sure where you get this about Beth. She is neither of these 2 things.

Well she does hate Islam, but she’s not racist.

Beth van Duyne became famous during the dark days when some Muslims were very anti-American (2015/16 ish). I can still remember a series of events.

Two Islamic terrorists attacked Garland with AK-47.
Some Islamic extremists wanted to set up Sharia Court in Irving.
"Clock boy" trolled school with a hoax bomb, and sued Irving for millions of dollars after he was arrested.

These are all settled now. Terrorist were killed. Sharia Law was banned by HB45. Clock boy fled to Sudan. Haven't seen Muslim-related headlines for some time. I guess South Asians and Muslims in Irving don't necessarily like or approve Beth van Duyne, but they also want to distance themselves from extremists.
