My 2021 house is a lot more energy efficient than your 1991 house also.

Doesn't mean you want to tear down or sell your 1991 house.

The point is there is a cost to everything. The media is blasting Texas for not being prepared for an event it wasn't designed for. I am sure there will be pressure now to "winterize" Texas. However, there is a noticeable cost difference to augment and upgrade, versus a cost to replace, and people will make that choice.

Reliable infrastructure costs money. And it's worth it.

Unreliable infrastructure costs a lot of money in the end. That's all.
