Where people in Dallas buy plants?
Any great, affordable places with big selection and seasonal discounts?

Calloway seems to have a great selection. That being said we were downtown today at the Dallas Farmers Market and wandered through a place called Ruibal's. I had never heard of them before. Turns out they have 3 other locations in addition to Farmers Market.

I shop at Ruibals a lot. Not sure its the cheapest, but its very convenient for me and I prefer not to do Home Depot/Lowes if I can avoid them. That said, they generally have pretty cheap prices, if not selection.

Shopped at North Haven Gardens south of LBJ FWY east of Hillcrest Blvd. just past south of Forest Ln. Usually go to Calloways but came in from Prosper, TX. spouse was looking for something different. Found it, she was thrilled, they have updated the nursery completely, worth a look.

Like North Haven Gardens myself. I just purchased alot of plants to replace the ones I lost in the freeze. I like Calloways but they are very expensive. Home Dept and Lowes can be great or lousy depending on what day you visit them. Knowing this I still shop at both of them.

A really good nursery is Strongs on I-35 in Carrollton.

Strong's Nursery & Garden Center | Garden center spanning 6 acres, stocking plants and supplies, tools, containers, benches & lawn decor.

OOH .. a great thread! .. love nurseries, though I don't know much about those actually in Dallas, here are some favorites from around the Metroplex. Please, chime in!

I like Ruibals a lot, especially the Rosemead Market location

Shades of Green Nursery on far north Coit in Frisco

Since finally discovering it, I'm making the trek to Greens Gardens and Produce in Arlington often.

There's an Asian nursery near Greens (name escapes me at the moment and I can't locate it on my map, sorry) that's well worth a visit if only to see the beautiful tropical plants!

And Archie's Garden Center is Fort Worth is well worth the trip .. very knowledgeable staff.

Calloway's is very pricey. Just went there a few weeks back. They were about 30 to 40% high then other places I looked.

Lowes and Home Depot seem to have the cheapest prices. For quality, I like North Haven Gardens. I go to Ruibals for flats. I need to check out Strongs, sounds interesting.
