We are moving from Houston to Dallas.
Currently live in Cinco Ranch, Katy area.

We will be working in downtown Dallas.
What are neighborhoods/ master planned communities with good schools, family friendly, parks within hour drive to downtown

Budget: <600K, 4 Bedroom house

Check out Lake Highlands, northeast side of Dallas. Good Schools, near White Rock Lake Park and a Dart Rail line. BUT not masterplanned. I'm a Houston native and master-planned communities are nowhere near as prevalent in DFW as metro Houston. I think with so much more of metro DFW was already incorporated municipalities, land available to do an MP Community is lacking.

Castle Hills is likely the closest MP to downtown Stonebridge and Craig's Ranch in McKinney are somewhat masterplanned but a little farther than Castle Hills

For more established but good inner suburbs, you should look at West Plano, Murphy, Allen, Coppell (NW Dallas county), Grapevine and Flower Mound.

Look at Wellington in Flower Mound. Beautiful community with great schools. A little further away from Downtown but within the 1 hour threshold
