I can't quite believe this is real, but in the current year, anything goes.

It will be of great interest to this forum, and is the logical conclusion of the current "Equity" Zeitgeist.

I'm not exactly sure this will have the intended effect, but we shall see.

The form letters apparently begin:
We are writing to you because we understand you are white and live within the Highland Park Independent School District and thus benefit from enormous privileges taken at the expense of communities of color. You live in the whitest and wealthiest neighborhood in Dallas. Whether you know it or not, you earned or inherited your money through oppressing people of color. However, it is also our understanding that you are a Democrat and supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement which makes you one of our white allies and puts you in a position to help correct these cruel injustices. We need you to step up and back up your words with action and truly sacrifice to make our segregated city more just.

A racial equity advocacy group is circulating a petition that asks wealthy white people to refrain from allowing their high school student teens to apply to Ivy League universities and other top 50 colleges in order to make room for students of color.

“Our pledge was brought about by the need to give kids in our community educational opportunities that we have been denied for centuries,” said Michele Washington, founder of Dallas Justice Now (DJN)

Pledge letters are currently being sent out in the 95% white Highland Park and University Park neighborhoods of Dallas, according to a DJN press release.

The Dallas Justice NOW College Pledge:

As a white person with privilege both from my whiteness and my neighborhood I recognize the need to make sacrifices for the purpose of correcting hundreds of years of murder, slavery, discrimination, and lack of educational and economic opportunities perpetrated upon people of color. I understand that access to top schools is a key component in economic and social advancement. Therefore, I commit that my children will not apply to or attend any Ivy League School or US News & World Report Top 50 School so that position at that school is available for people of color to help correct historical wrongs. If I do not have children under 18 then I will commit to encouraging my white privileged friends, neighbors, and family members with children to sign the pledge and holding them accountable until they do so. [emphasis added]

You’re a smart person, Walter Benjamin. Always check your sources before reposting. Dallas City Wire is a “pay to play” fake news site. They played a big role in starting a lot of the CRT rumors that ran rampant in the recent HPISD school board race, and also a completely false article claiming HPISD surveyed all eighth graders about their gender identity (which the district, students & parents all denied). It appears a lot of the content is manufactured to enrage conservatives about how the country is being taken over by leftist Marxists and Socialists.

It would be prudent to ask, who will benefit from this news article circulating? Who is even behind this “Dallas Justice NOW” organization? Their website doesn’t list any board of directors or operating executive team - or even the name of a founder. Their Facebook page has 600-something followers and most of the people engaging in their content from earlier this summer appear to be fake accounts or not in Dallas. Legit activists - whether BLM, Pro-Life, SPCA, etc (literally any activists of any kind( are PROUD of their work and proud to put their names on it. So why operate in the shadows?? Probably because there is an alt-right group behind Dallas Justice NOW…

It would be in line with other “news” published on Dallas City Wire and it’s network of pay for play news sites.

Perhaps in recent months you’ve stumbled across a local news story in your Facebook feed and clicked through to discover a new source called the Dallas City Wire…. If so, then you have stumbled into a shadowy new network of pay-to-play propaganda news sites that have rapidly proliferated over the past year.

It is, therefore, difficult to know how many paying clients Timpone’s network has, who they are, and how are using the network. But tax records and campaign-finance reports showed that the network received at least $1.7 million from Republican political campaigns and conservative groups. Internal correspondence received by the Times found that “assignments typically come with precise instructions on whom to interview and what to write. . . . In some cases, those instructions are written by the network’s clients, who are sometimes the subjects of the articles.”

Do you personally know the person whose FB profile you linked with a pic of the letter?

Nice try, TC80, but nope.

This is the original source:

https://www.dallasjustice.org/college-pledge

The letter has been verified; it is now being picked up by more mainstream news sites.

I didn’t say the letter was fake….I said the organization behind it may very well be fake. The original news source is a pay for play site, not an legitimate news source.

Just saying it reeks of the PAC that was behind Kelli Macatee’s HPISD school board race. A lot of outrage manufactured to rile up the Trump base.

They look very real to me.
https://www.dallasjustice.org/about-us

OUR GOALS
ONE
Defunding and Re-Defining the Dallas Police Department. A department with a legacy of racism which continues to hunt black men and women cannot merely be reformed. We must re-define community safety.

TWO
An end to the Dallas Police Association. Police unions like DPA exist primarily to prevent bad cops from being held accountable.

THREE
An end to qualified immunity (essentially, a law that allows police to be exempt from prosecution for acts committed in the course of doing their job) for Dallas Police Officers who turn off their body cameras or otherwise refuse to follow department policy. Many times, cops simply turn off a switch and then can act with impunity and hide behind qualified immunity.

FOUR
An end to “us versus them” law enforcement. Police officers continue to treat communities of color as a battlefield and continue to dehumanize people of color. An end to discriminatory policing. We want every person regardless of skin color to be treated fairly by law enforcement.

FIVE
An end to the discriminatory “separate but equal” public education system. Dallas Independent School District is failing children of color. Why are white children in the suburbs given a better education than children of color in Dallas? Why are racist school board members denying children of color access to school choice? We demand access to equal education facilities. And if DISD refuses to provide quality education then we demand school choice.

HOW WE WILL ACHIEVE THESE GOALS
TONL-12402.jpg
DIRECT
ACTION
We will call our officials, we will rally, we will protest. We will do what it takes to get the word out and hold wrongdoers accountable.

TONL-12404.jpg
COALITION
BUILDING
We will reach out and build coalitions with church leaders, activists, and elected officials.

TONL-12408.jpg
RESEARCH, DATA, & SCIENCE
We will be publishing detailed papers examining our findings about police unions, qualified immunity, discriminatory policing, and discriminatory education.

Oh yeah, they have a website. Anyone can build a website and throw some propaganda on there.

But you don’t find it odd that there are NO NAMES of the leaders, founders, members, etc anywhere on it, or on their Facebook account? No pics from any events or meetings they’ve held? The one person who comments on their FB posts - an Alex Williams (who lists that he works at Dallas Justice Now ) has 890 Facebook friends and NONE of them appear to live in Dallas, most of them live random places all over the world and/or don’t appear to be real people.

How many legit organizations operate this way? ZERO.

It’s very easy to fake almost anything with a website and a social media profile.

The letter is addressed to liberals, in Highland Park. Dallas County votes what, almost 70% Democratic? What about HP? It has nothing to do with the “Trump fan base”.

Seems like a false flag operation designed to increase racism.
