Hey all,

We're getting ready to move up from the Houston area to DFW (Flower Mound), and we've been debating either getting a house with a pool or paying slightly less for a house without a pool and then just putting one in as soon as we close?

Anyone know what the current lead time is on a pool build? Would it be possible to have a pool company come out as soon as we close on our home for an initial survey and start the build right away (within 2 months), or would we be waiting a long while for our pool build to get started?

Thank you

Due to the high demand in Covid, pool construction times are quite long. This Dallas pool website says that if you want a pool for next Memorial Day, you basically need to sign now.

Yes, expect it to be a long process. My friend is currently getting a pool built in their backyard (they are in Celina). It's already been six months and they're still not done. They have also had to dig three times now because they guys come and dog the hole, the guys for the next phase take several weeks to get out there. During the downtime, it kept raining, so they had to come back out and dig and level the hole again. It's definitely a pain right now.
