Hi,
I moved to Parker last August and will be going on my first trip this summer and will need to board my dog. My vet says they board animals, but it is in the typical cages. I am used to using a kennel that is indoor/outdoor where the dog can come in and out as he pleases and where he has at least 5x10' at a minimum to walk around in. Does anyone have any recommendations in the Allen/Parker/Lucas/Plano area?

Our neighbor recommended the Four Paws resort in McKinney. We are boarding our dogs there over Memorial day weekend.

Our neighbor also used Four Paws and loved it. We have used Pappy's in Plano twice--both experiences very good. Once we used Mckinney Animal Vet and we liked them as well.

Also Bo's Bunkhouse in Plano is really good. I sent one of my dogs to daycare there for a year and we'd board him there when we went out of town. He loved it!

Wagon Tails in Plano isn't bad either.

I use Pet Paradise Resort in Melissa (it's right off 75, just as you're leaving McKinney). They have actual rooms for the dogs, with doggy doors. A very nice couple run the place and the boarding center is right on their property. A few years ago, when I was on holiday in India (and did not have a lot of contact with the boarding place), one of my dogs (who had immune system issues) became very ill. Unable to reach me, they drove my dog down to the vet in Plano multiple times to insure that she would get the medical attention that she needed. When I came back, I had some vet bills, but at least my dog was well cared for.
