What do you think is the most beautiful area in or around Dallas & Why ?
I am not asking this question just for my benefit, but I thought it would be neat to get different perspectives on the area.

PS - I love this site & how so many people take the time to post their thoughts and advice to help each other out !

The Cross Timbers belt through Denton and Tarrant counties is lovely. Rolling terrain, thick forest.

This area has the best scenery in Dallas IMHO. The rolling hills and mature trees are great. Kessler/Stevens Park and the Whiterock Area is also great. Do anyone know if they have started building homes around Mountain Creek Lake. Last time I was out that way there was no development at all and it's a really pretty part of Dallas.

Yes they are building homes. I was over there today it's called Capella Park a partnership with the city of Dallas and T.D Jakes (Potter's House). The area is coming along very nicely.
Go down Great Southwest Parkway across Joe Pool Lake into Cedar Hill is the best natural scenery in the area. Plenty of trees and rolling hills. Go on the bike and hike trails in Cedar Hill State Park or The Preserve and you will get the best views of Dallas . I believe the Texas Hill Country begins in the area. It is absolutely beautiful at this time of the year.
