I've lived in Texas for 30 years. I have never once seen a scorpion and have no idea what a wolf spider is. I've also camped a lot and traveled all over the state. I think its not nearly as bad as you think it is. Now mosquitos, roaches and cicadas...those we have!

They are both more central Texas creatures than DFW creatures. Scorpions are far more common in central Texas.

Wolf spider is even more generally a name for a quarter-sized brown/grey indoor spider. In that sense, Rowlett has them, both generally and specifically. They are not dangerous, maybe just annoying if you don't like spiders.

Wolf spiders are okie. Hire the pest control and they will take care of it( every quarter). You might still see them but not that often if you /neighbor keep yard clean and mowed and do regular pest control.

Wolf spiders are primarily outdoor spiders. I have seen thousands outdoors and not a one inside, ever, in 56 years.

There are numerous varieties of spiders that live here. Two are harmful - the Black Widow and the Brown Recluse. I don't know much about the Recluse but I've seen many Black Widows. They tend to hang out in confined places that are dry, for example inside a stack of pipes.

I've never seen a big spider indoors in the Dallas area.

There are also the giant garden spiders. They aren't dangerous but I reckon if you walked into their web, their bite would pack a wallop. So don't do that.

Scorpions in this area seem to only be attracted to drywall paste in new construction. I have never seen them in any other situation.

Cockroaches, big and small, yep. Silverfish, yep. Millipedes, yep. Ants of many varieties, bees of many varieties, dragonflies, yep. What else you want to know about?

Look, it's a warm humid temperate climate region. Pretty much any plant or animal can live here.
