Hi, I'm curious if anyone has any advice on the ISAAD test. Thank you!

When is your child taking the test? Ours took it this past Saturday. Results came out via email on Monday. The score report provided the number of questions in each section and the number of correct answers in each section. Does anyone have insight into what is considered a good score?

Hard to tell. I know of two kids, one with 70 out of 72 on the ISAAD. The other with 68 out of 72 on the ISAAD. Both at Lamplighter, applying for 1st Grade admission to SM. One got in and the other was waitlisted.

Both seem like excellent scores (imo).

I think perhaps it's one data point, but not a determining factor.

Either way, good luck on applications!

Great question. I wish the scores showed more data on what it meant. The CATS test at least tells you ”average”, ”above average”, etc. A parent from last year told me that the ISADD average was 50% and it was meant to be a true test of what a child knows. If everyone got 100% then it wouldn't separate anyone. I do not have any confirmation on this thought but it would make sense to be challenging and 90%+ scores to be uncommon.

50% average sounds right, based on a few scores I've heard from other parents this year and based on the questions I saw. 70/72 or 68/72 for a 5.5-6.5 year old kindergartener on that test seems very high. Though the test has lots of easy questions that even a 4-year old could answer, there were also lots of questions way above kinder level, maybe even above first grade level. As PHDad said, I think the more difficult questions allow for score separation. I wouldn't be surprised if only 10% of the test takers are scoring above 90%.

I just got my daughters scores back and it says she scored 76.4?? Is that a good score for this test? I have no idea.
