Hello all:

We are currently living in NJ. I am getting transferred to Irving, Texas. I have a hybrid work model (2 times a week). My spouse's company has an office in Addison and Richardson with hybrid option as well. We have kids in middle school and high school. So good school district is important. Please suggest a few towns to look into. Our priorities:

1. Safety
2. Schools
3. Commute
4. Diverse

Thanks

Budget?

Irving is very large, but I am going to assume Las Colinas area for your job.

Coppell is certainly one to look at. Parts of Richardson or Far North Dallas zoned to Richardson ISD could be an option.

Also, consider areas zoned to Hebron High School, which is part of Lewisville ISD (the area would fall under a couple different cities).

First line is everything. You could probably go as far as West Plano, but it’s going to boil down to the cash factor

If the budget allows, you really don’t have to look farther than Coppell ISD or Richardson ISD to tick all your boxes: safety, diversity, great K-12 public schools, and very easy/short commutes for both of you.

Coppell is just to the west of Irving and Richardson borders Addison.

And be prepared to have a difficult time finding a home in any of these communities.

No doubt. I’m just waiting for the “new construction” piece to drop in.

That would be true pretty much anywhere. Most of DFW is working off a month or less of inventory, right?

Pretty much so. Most sell the first day or 2 they hit the market with multiple offers.

Very minimum inventory right now.
