Since when is it bigoted to say that some people from a particular region of the world don't speak a certain language? My post was quite clear that many Indians speak great English. Is it bigoted to say that more people on the Texas-Mexico border speak Spanish than do people in Maine? I'm just curious what level of reality we are trying to operate in here.

I'm glad your husband went to an international school and has parents who had the means to get an education themselves. That doesn't mean that is the norm, though.

With some regional exceptions, like the northeastern state of Assam, speaking English in India is highly correlated with class.
