No direct experience but know many families at St Rita who love it.

I have no personal experience with either. I know folks at St Rita whose kids really enjoy the school and are doing well.

Can’t go wrong academically. At the end of the day, these are PAROCHIAL schools. Most people will attend a parish close to their homes.

So if you live in North Dallas / South of 635, St. Rita makes more sense. If you live in West or NW Plano, POP is going to make more sense.

I don’t think there are a lot of people driving from North Dallas to POP.

OP could live in between both schools - they aren't that far apart. I agree both are great schools. If your HS goal is Jesuit/Ursuline then St. Rita may make more sense, since so many students go from St Rita to Jesuit/Ursuline. POP also sends students each year but St Rita sends a lot more. I have heard, anecdotally, that St. Rita can be very cliquey. That can be true anywhere, of course, but it's definitely something I hear people say a lot more about Rita than other schools. But no personal experience there. Both are great schools - congrats on having great options and good luck!

Speaking from experience: It will be hard to break in socially at St. Rita for your children if you live north of 635. Knew a half dozen or so families in our grades who moved south of 635 because of that. It stinks if you are north, but the gravitational pull is in the neighborhood surrounding the school. Especially true for the boys because they all play outside together.

Also, St. Rita is sports crazy. If you have a boy who is less athletically inclined, better chance of finding his people at PoP, though sports is huge there, too. Our boys missed the sports at St. Rita after they left. That said, we enjoyed our experience there before moving on. If we had planned on staying through eighth grade we would have moved into the neighborhood around the school.
