Everyone here in Texas is raised to say yes sir or ma'am officer and sorry to the cops. I suppose that may seem backwards to some outside of Texas but please do us a favor and butt out...

1. Most people are respectful of law enforcement and understand what a thankless job it is.

2. Just because you are part of law enforcement it does not give anyone the right to shoot someone when they are of no threat to you or anyone else. Wearing a uniform does not automatically mean that you have the right to blow people away if they look at you funny. Judgement and prudence in everything, especially when you are carrying a gun.

I did not say I endorsed random shootings by the police. I guess reading comprehension is lacking outside Texas - did you miss 'butt out'?

Well I think we have had a very lively discussion about this sad event and we'll just have to wait and see how this situation unfolds in the courtroom. Unfortunately, this thread (started by someone that appears to have no vested interest in the subject) seems to simply be going back and forth with the same points being made over and over. When the case is resolved perhaps we can revisit the topic. Thanks folks
