If you had children of Middle School and High School age, which school district would you choose for them and why, please? I do not need the best ranked schools, highest test grades, etc. I am more concerned with a friendly atmosphere, safety, career class opportunities and good electives, along with no obscene amounts of homework. Thank you.

From those choices, Prosper.

Prosper is much smaller than the other cities listed, it has more of a small town feel to it, where everyone knows everyone. You're just not going to find that with the other districts, and Prosper is rated very highly.

Prosper 100 %...The actual build out for The Town of Prosper is roughly 65,000 people. The population is currently close to 30,000 and there is not a substantial amount of land left that is not already being developed.Prosper is 22 square miles. The Town of Prosper to me,has a different feel overall than the surrounding areas.

Do note that while Prosper is a small city compared to the surrounding cities, Prosper ISD will be quite large. Prosper ISD contains the city of Prosper and portions of surrounding cities such as Frisco and Little Elm. At buildout Prosper ISD projects to have about 6-8 high schools with 30-40 elementary schools following a Frisco model with the high schools. That means about 2000 kids in each high school.

Based on your criteria Frisco, McKinney and Prosper ISD are good options. However do consider that there will be a sharp increase in academic competition in Frisco ISD due to the huge influx of Asians, particularly Asian Indians to Frisco. Prosper ISD will also see similar changes when your middle schooler becomes a high school student (especially in areas on the southern side of Prosper ISD in or near Frisco).

I’d go with the closest one to my house and work. At that age, engagement with them and time spent together is more important. The schools would just be splitting hairs.

Agree 100%

My elderly parents have lived in Rockwall since 2011, and they absolutely love it. It is a very family-friendly city, and although they haven't personally had a child go through the RISD school, many of their friends and neighbors have, and they speak very highly of them. I enjoy going with my mother to various community activities, especially the Rockwall Summer Musicals, and the concerts at The Harbor.

Rockwall is very nice. I have family who have lived there since 2000 when there was nothing out there, and watched it explode in growth since then. Only downside is that you are VERY limited in work options. Downtown Dallas is essentially the only reasonable commute work option. Too far and expensive for just about any of the other major job centers. Also you are stuck with one way in and one way out of town. If there is a wreck on I30 you might as well stay home for the day.

Takes exactly 35 minutes to the heart of downtown from Prosper. I have a few friends who make that commute on daily.

Sure they do... if that commute is done at midnight...or maybe you meant downtown Plano? No way you meant downtown Dallas during regular rush hour???

Um not at all actually. At around 9 in the morning. Its an easy commute because you ride all the way down DNT. You don’t need to switch highways or deal with any local roads.
