Has anyone heard about the number of applications received at Hockaday and SM?

I heard Cistercian’s numbers were down so I’m wondering if this trend was across the board.

I have zero specific information about Cistercian's application numbers this go around. However, even if applications numbers are down at Cistercian I'd bet that means zero more broadly. Cistercian is a very, very small, special purpose school nominally for Catholic boys. It's tough to get more narrow than that. BTW, I'm a big fan we know a number of graduates who have gone on to be fine - and in every case well educated - young men.

Heard through another applicant parent that SM applications were up, but not as much as in years past. I would expect the same at Hockaday.

I was told that SM received 855 applications for 1 - 12 which is only a slight increase from previous years.

Back in November, I heard from a Hockaday admissions person that they had already received twice the number of applications for preK/LS than they had at that same time the year before. Not sure if that translates to more applicants or if everyone submitted much earlier than previous years.

Last year it was 876. I had it in my notes from one of the admissions zooms they hosted in September/October.

So have the decisions been made at private schools by now?

Are the admissions folks just waiting to send out the emails next Friday?

The wait is killer.

I assume the decisions have been made and they are finalizing financial aid packages.
