I've been tasked with trying to plan a happy hour/mixer and looking for recommendations. I don't venture south of 635 much but need to find someplace between Uptown and Preston Hollow. It will occur on a weeknight M-W and would need to be able to accommodate up to 15 people.

What kind of HH? Casual, upscale, private room? Closer to the tollway or Central? What’s the vibe you’re looking for?

Inwood Lounge (Lovers and Inwood) is the perfect spot.

Lounge 31 above Bistro 31 in Highland Park Village

Monkey Bar above the HP Village MiCo is also a good spot.

The Mesero at Walnut Hill & 75 (NW corner shopping center) has an outside patio & is really easy to work with for group events. I’ve been to a happy hour there.

The upstairs bar at Shinsei will also do private happy hours but not sure what the minimum tab is.

I liked that place. Haven’t been there in years. It’s dive-y but friendly.

Honestly the worst thing about King's X (besides the neighborhood) is the parking. Other than that it's a nice little dive.
