Just wondered if there would be any true Rangers’ fans in the stands

My company has a few for game 2. They'll either go to me or the other local sales guy.

Yes, my friend with season tickets did buy World Series tickets.

If you are a half-season or season ticket holder, playoff tickets aren't particularly all that expensive and they do give you an opportunity to buy them, even if you sit in the nosebleeds. I don't have tickets now, due to kids, but I went to the last Mavs championship series and the last Rangers World Series. If I recall from the previous Mavs series where they lost in an earlier round, they make you buy all the tickets upfront, and give refunds. It's been a while though.

I'm a Cardinals fan, and when I was in college in 2006, I made significant sacrifice to attend the World Series. My ticket ended up being good for a possible clincher, and I turned down a $1300 offer to buy my ticket (in 2006, no less) to attend the game. The Cardinals won (first WS victory in my lifetime) at home, and it was probably the most fun day of my entire life. In retrospect, I would have turned down virtually any amount of money.

If you get the chance to see your team win a World Series at home, and you're a baseball fan, do it.

Standing room are running around $300 on StubHub and actual seats start just over $400. Seat Geek has similar pricing.
That's actually cheaper than they were selling for earlier in the week. I paid $220 for a 100 level seat to ALCS game 4 last week. I went to World Series game 5 (elimination game) in 2010 and paid $80 for a single seat. It was worth it even if I did see the Rangers hopes end. Even with the high prices, the place will be packed with real fans. This opportunity doesn't come around often.

I think there will be a ton of “real” fans there - my husband watches 100+ games a year and he got tickets with some similarly crazy friends
