So, now we are trying to make a decision between a new home in Woodcreek vs. a 10 year old home in Chandlers Landing....anyone know Rockwall and have any thoughts???? New vs. "used"? We just want a good place for tweens/teens - Thanks!

I vote for Chandlers for a couple of things... Closer to town, homes appreciate more there since they are still building in Woodcreek. Part of Woodcreek is in Rockwall ISD and another other in Royse City ISD... Wooded lots, parks, ponds, very active HOA, gated etc... Woodcreek's tax rate is higher too... As long as the home has been well maintained, 10 years isn't too much for Chandler's considering there are homes from the 70s...

Chandlers is the better bet, they also have private security. Rockwall is another boomtown, but its still a nice quiet place. As small as it is there is still open land, the lake is of course a huge draw. Lots of boating, fishing, and water skiing. These days you don't even have to leave Rockwall to do anything, its all right there.

Chandler's has a much better location, especially with the new Harbor development being right there. And even though the homes are older, the neighborhood's reputation is excellent!

Chandlers Landing. Much more appeal in the area and will help in resale especially if you have kept the home & property updated. Your also a bit closer into town and with teens and them driving.......... I'd like that better when they are out late on a date or something. Chandlers Landing is also located ON the water and has a marina. If your family is interested in getting a boat you can keep it at one of the slips right there, hop in a golf cart or walk to the boat and be on the lake for the day w/o much hassle at all.

Just had to chime in here about Woodcreek. I posted on a previous thread, but wanted to say its a lovely, quiet area. Big, spacious lots. Easy access to i-30, no crime or traffic. The neighborhood is very friendly and always had fun events for the families through out the year. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
