I was wondering if anyone can tell me any info on the Northshore division of Rockwall - what neighborhoods or areas (if any) should we avoid or should NOT live in (in McKinney, Frisco, & Rockwall). We are a professional couple seeking a middle class to an upper-middle-class neighborhood to move to permanently. We would also like to be close to shopping, hospitals (I'm an RN), any lake, golf, or any activities.

Any suggestions on particular neighborhoods for N Dallas will be appreciated and we're also interested in lease to own program if there is anyone on here who may know of anyone or is a realtor may contact us.

Thanks .

If you are considering Frisco and looking for a place to settle easy access to shopping golf and lake take a look at the Tribute which is a master planned community on Lake Lewisville. part of it is in Frisco.
Good luck

What type of budget are you working with? Are schools important to you? That would help to direct you.

Default RE: moving to Dallas area, budget

Hi nsumner,
Our budget will allow for a $130,000- 200,000 home to buy and $1500 - 1800 per month if we rent a place. If I find a travel nursing position, they will pay my housing for me (prob. up to $1500 a month). No, school is not important as we do not have, nor intend to have children. We just want to live in a NICE upscale neighborhood that is somewhat close to shops, restaurants and civilization.
We would be highly interested in doing a lease-to-purchase if possible.
Thanks for any info.

Your price range puts you in a solid middle class neighborhood not upscale. You will have many options on were to put down roots. Job location and school districts are typically the most important but it appears neither is a deal breaker for you. If you could narrow down your requirements a bit more (older homes with charm or newer cookie cutter burbs) the advice given could give you a better picture.

We would like a newer home (built in 2000 or later) that has a pool, 2 stories, media room, a nice-sized kitchen and 2 - car garage. That's about all we require home-wise. It has to be in a safe neighborhood.
