Yeah! I appreciate that the OP actually took photos of Beckley Club Estates! I live in a different popular pocket of the OC, but have always found Beckley Club really cool. Believe it or not, there are some Cliff Dwellers who have lived here for years and when Beckley Club comes up, they are clueless about it.

One of those photos (two posts above) reminds me of a house where I went to a party many years ago. Right across the Trinity River near Beckley, literally on the side of the Cliff (of Oak Cliff, I suppose). You had to enter the home from the alley to the rear of the house. The front had no access, but had huge floor to ceiling windows with a fantastic panoramic view of downtown. Maybe the front was actually the back - dunno. Great house.

Great pics rantanamo ! Love Lausanne. I went on a tour of Charles Stevens Dilbeck homes around there with Preservation Dallas several years ago and was so very impressed as I had not visited in some time.

This house certainly was like that, but I believe it was on a hill just west of Methodist. What I didn't capture was the little trolley thing that could carry people up and down the hill. There were probably 3 or 4 in that part of Oak Cliff. I've seen them in New Mexico and Utah, but didn't think I'd ever see it in Dallas.

I could take a picture of El Paso from Juarez but that doesn't mean that Juarez is an American city.
Good point but that wasn't the purpose of those pics. It was just to show the great views from one of the cooler spots in Oak Cliff.

This Old House Says Now's the Time to Buy in North Oak Cliff, a "Best Old House" 'Hood - Dallas News - Unfair Park

"Last year, This Old House magazine singled out Junius Heights as one of the Best Old House Neighborhoods in the country, insisting, "Proximity to downtown Dallas, great schools, and recent recognition as a National Register Historic District are driving up Junius Heights' property values and helping the neighborhood maintain its historic character."

This year, yet another local neighborhood appears on the list: Late yesterday, Old Oak Cliff Conservation League president Michael Amonett sent word that North Oak Cliff made the cut"
