Are there any night clubs or resurants in the Dallas Texas area that feature a 1940's style big band and decor?

Thanks,
Frank Brown

Not sure about big band, but you might check out Ricki Derek - rickiDerek2006. He puts on a great Sinatra-style show at several venues around town.

I don't know of any restaurants or clubs that regularly host a true big band night. But you could try shooting an email over to the KAAM radio folks for a few suggestions. Plus, they frequently sponsor dances and big band events.

Anyone remember Strictly Taboo? They had Pete Peterson and the Collection play every Tuesday night. They were a group of former North Texas State, (pre-UNT) musicians that just read Big Band charts. It was great. And then it burned down.

Panterra, I haven't thought about that place in a long time. I used to go there frequently in the early 90s. Do you remember what year it burned?

i live in the village and on Sundays the Galen Jeter Orchastra plays at the country club. there is $5 cover charge if you don't live there but it's worth it. check out www.thevillageapts.com. If you have found a place please let me know, would love to go for a night out with some real music, the stuff I hear on the radio these days makes me blush more than you could ever imagine!

This is an OLD thread. But wow, that name Galen Jeter sure brought back some memories. He used to teach at the high school I attended and he and my brother played with some of the same musicians way back when. Had no idea he was still around.
