Which city do you think is most artistic Dallas or Houston?
Take in consideration these aspects:

1.Graphic Design/Illustration job opportunities
2. Museum and Performing art Districts
3. Video/film/Radio/Television job opportunities
4. Cultural Festivals of different ethnic groups
5. Music Scene - variety of music of all genres

Houston has a better music scene and better museums and performing arts. Graphic design and video and television is better off in Dallas. I think Houston has better cultural festivals, though. It has the International Festival every year, and has the third most foreign consulates of U.S. cities.

If Houston has a better music scene than Dallas...I'm in trouble thinking of moving to Dallas. Lived in Houston for 22 years, and one of my MAJOR complaints--being a live music scene lover--was the HORRIBLE quality of the music scene there. I cannot imagine Dallas could be any worse... It WAS that BAD in Houston. Just horrid.
The museums are mainly in Houston.
All of Texas has festivals, but Houston gets alot of bigger events.
Austin is one of the main music capitals in America! Go there for your music scene, and alot of great people go there to get their start.
Alot of filming is done in Austin; however, many Hollywood productions audition in Dallas. Believe it or not, they say the children in Dallas are more natural acting than elsewhere. Many acting agents and classes are in Dallas (more than in Austin), and you can forget Houston insofar as drama is concerned. Again, Houston is represented poorly in this category, too.

Tootsie, pick up the Friday edition of the Dallas Morning News and get out the Guide section. You will be able to find out what is going on in the Dallas metroplex as far as plays, musicals, concerts, small live music venues, etc.

I wasn't thinking about live music when I said Houston has a large music scene. I was talking about the stuff you see on tv. Houston is producing some big name music stars out there (some suck, though).
