Hola, MY FIRST POST
I need some help!
I am looking to rent an apartment or preferably a townhome towards Northpark mall or about 3-4 miles down 75. Just not more then 5-6 miles from work. 2Br for under $900. I went and looked at a lot of the apartments on the east side of 75 and they are very slummy. I am looking for a more clean and quiet enviroment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Try looking here TheVillageapts.com | Home (http://www.thevillageapts.com/index_flash.shtml - broken link). Very close to Northpark and offers a wide variety of floorplans and apartment communities.

Anything south of Northwest Hwy will fit the bill. The Village apartments would be a good fit

I don't think you can get a decent 2Br for $900. The Village are good apartments, but even they may not have a 2br for that price.

Did you try south of Lover's Lane down around E. University?

I live in The Hill in the Village and pay $795 for ~940 s.f. one bedroom/open den (which serves as my office). It's one of the older complexes but also has among the largest apts. They take pretty good care of the place. The newer ones (Northbridge, The Dakota, Westside) are nicer, have better finishings but are also more expensive. It takes me less than 5 minutes to get to NorthPark. If I make the light at Shady Brook and NW Hwy or if I go the other way and make the light at Greenville and Caruth Haven, it takes less time than that.

I agree with Grainraiser...stay south of NW Hwy.

the more expensive you go the quieter it will be . I think if you stick at $900 or higher you will be safe.
A lot of SMU undergrads(party time) live in the village so ask the leasing consultants in the community center to help you pick out the quiet apartments within the community.

Not really that many SMU kids in The Village these days - remember SMU only has around 1500 kids in each class (if you count how many live in the dorms and frat/sorority houses, not that many are left to get apartments). There are more down around University but they get along pretty well with the older, long-term residents.

I own properties near the redevelopment areas around Henderson and that seems to be the place they are going. Many of them have bought or are leasing the new townhomes a couple of blocks from the Capitol Pub. I know several of the developments are almost all SMU kids (how well I know those frat stickers) and the for sale signs even have an SMU pony on them! I wonder if a student is the developer?
