Me and my wife are in need of a good vet for our 10yr old American Bulldog. We had a pretty bad experience while in TN before we found a great vet there. I'd like to avoid having another bad experience.

We are looking for a vet where you can have your dog seen by 1 vet, not a different vet everytime. They almost killed our Nikki in TN because she saw 5 DIFFERENT VETS!!! Every appointment was a different vet, and I refuse to deal with that again. We'll pay more to take here where she can be seen by 1 vet, the same one every time. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

When I lived in Las Colinas I visited a few vets in the area and had several VERY negative experiences with a handful of vets. Will not besmirch them here, but DM if you're interested. I have Bostons and am surprised how clueless some vets are to the unique needs of smushed-faced breeds.

Katy Trail in Uptown is my current clinic and it's worth the drive. I cannot say enough good things. You can certainly request to see the vet of your choice. I recommend Dr. Mandy Waller. My mom drives from Euless just to use Katy Trail because there's no place our family trusts more.

Welcome to Katy Trail Animal Hospital

If you want to drive to Richardson I've got a great vet for you....

You might contact the Lone Star Bulldog rescue group and see if they have a trusted vet near you.

I understand there to be a lady vet in Carrollton (Frankford and Old Denton behind McDonalds). Sorry but I'm not sure of her name but the friend who told me about her said that she has been the best vet they have used in years. She is a holistic vet if I understood correctly. She said her dog's allergies are no longer with whatever treatment that has been recommended by this doctor.

We have used Valley Ranch Pet Clinic for 12 yrs. and they are great. We go to Dr. Capps and she is wonderful. I know of other people that have gone there too for years and really like it.

Thanks for the replies! I will check into getting Nikki into seeing one of these recommended vets. She has an ongoing issues with skin growths that have to be removed. Some of them have been on the verge of malignancy, and one large one was actually full blown cancer. Really breaks my heart to see Nikki have issues, but its even worse when you have to deal with bad vets.

Thanks again for the replies.

All Care Veterinary on Denton Tap in Coppell is excellent. We've used them for over 18 yrs.

I dont mean to hijack the thread, but are there any good vet recommendations for the Frisco/Prosper area, or a short drive from there? We have a 6 year old Chihuahua that needs some attention from time to time. Thanks in advance!

We use All Care Vet in Coppell off Denton Tap as well. Our chocolate lab had to have a huge growth removed, non cancerous and they were so great with her. We see Dr. Patti Weber, but her husband and the other associate (who we saw during our dogs stay) were wonderful as well.

Alternative Vet in Carrollton is great if you can get past reception. She is very busy and it can be tough to get in. I've been going to her for years and think she is great, Dr. Ballard, but I am in search of a not so popular, but also great, new vet. I'm tired of calling to ask a question and not getting a response back. Maybe I need to rely on emails directly to Dr. Ballard.
