We, retired couple plan to move to Cedar Creek lake Tx. area.

We are appreciate very much if someone living in the area would answer the following questions:

What side of lake is better place to live interm of Security, Water level, Convenient ?

The property tax rate ?.

Living there : Pro and Con about the area ?

Average Waterfront property value ?

Phone number or website where we can make inquiries about rental property: we plan to rent a few months before purchasing.

Consider the direction that the sun sets. Do you want your back yard to be in full sun in the evening or shade?

There are maps in the local restaurants that show the water depth of the entire lake.

Henderson County - go to their website to see property tax rates and tax values of the houses on a particular street

Security - You're in the country, Henderson County police, you're on your own, get a security system for the house

On our street avg value runs $100-200,000 but there are million dollar+ homes within three miles. Little or no zoning.

Pro: the Lake, quiet atmosphere, not crowded, small town atmosphere, large trees
Con: small town, little to do other than the lake or fish if your interested in city amenities

There is a rental cabin on our street (less than $100/night) - County Road 2827 about 3/4 miles on the lake side on a small side road.
