think about how expensive a move like that is--just to reprint all their stationery for one thing...
in light of what is going on in financial market
just makes you wonder who serious this crash was...

LOL! Took me a minute to get it. I wonder if they'll have a bunch of barbarians running around down there as a publicity stunt? LOL!

interesting. Another company moving to downtown Dallas.

Does any one know which company is next and if this trend will accelerate?

Sweet. The eighty employees they put in Downtown Dallas will correspond well with the 4,500 employees they have in their 450,000 sq. ft. campus in Plano.

I personally don't understand why this is such a big announcement. It's taking 80 people from one office in the city of Dallas and moving them to another in the city of Dallas. Hey, I could make a Mastercard commercial out of the Capital One move:

Tax revenue gains: zero.
Net space lease increase: zero.
Tom Leppert bragging about this: priceless.

Hehe - sorry, I couldn't pass it up. Seriously though - it's nice to see the central business district getting space leased - but IMO - it would be much better to see someone relocate from out of the DFW metro or out-of-state. Even relocating from a suburb isn't a gain for the region. So now we brag about cannibalizing even within the same city boundaries? It just doesn't make sense other than, "Yup, it's nice to see CBD getting more folks".

When DFW can think of itself as a region and go after businesses outside our area and present a unified front - THEN - I will be impressed. DFW is like a loose confederation of warring tribes.

its a trend

"In the last 18 months, we've seen more than 40 companies locate downtown, absorbing more than 1.5 million square feet and creating more than 6,500 jobs,"
