Spring break weather usually stinks in Dallas- it tends to be one of the last cold, and usually rainy, weeks in the spring, so be prepared that outdoor activities might be out.

Dallas World Aquarium is cool- located near the West End dowrown

Check the Winspear Opera House and Fair Park Summer Musical's schedules as lots of kid/tween friendly Broadway musicals come there. Last year was Beauty & the Beast and Legally Blond...this year is Shrek, I think.

I'm not sure the Rangers will be playing if you have the typical March week 2 or 3 spring break. Opening Day is usually around April 1. The Dallas Mavericks bball will still be in season then. Upper-level tickets are as low as $10ish each. They play at American Airlines Center in Uptown.

Girls that age usually enjoy a day of shopping. NorthPark Mall underwent a huge reno 5 years ago and there is a huge "tween/teen" selection there with Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Charlotte Russe, Juicy Couture, Steve Madden, etc for older teens and Crewcuts, Justice, Claire's, Gap Kids, etc for younger ones. Also Nordstrom has huge teen and kids departments. It's fun to be girly and have lunch at the Nordstrom Bistro or at Neiman's Mermaid Grill.

Will you want to look at housing on your trip? If so, we can advise neighborhoods as Dallas has changed quite a bit in 30 years.

Come over to Fort Worth for a day! Stockyards is neat to see, and so is the Japanese Garden. (If you're lucky, the cherry trees will be blooming!) The Fort Worth Zoo is VERY good, but tends to be quite crowded on Spring Break. There are also numerous art museums (Kimbell, Amon Carter, Modern, Sid Richardson), too. The Cowgirl Hall of Fame and the Science & History Museum, too.
