Working on my database of greater Dallas nightclubs... up to 551 now

Question for some of our more 'seasoned' members (those with more seasons then others). Did anyone go to the Sky Vu and/or the Sky Club? These were some old school dance clubs with a touch of Texas Mafia thrown in. Bennie Binion. Jack Ruby.

We think they were in the same building but had different entrances. Anyone remember?

This would have been right around the corner from Pappys Showland

Paul,

Any chance your database of clubs might be available for viewing? I'd be interested in seeing how many I've been to.

Terry

It will be Terry. Not sure how long. Keep in mind memoriesofdallas.org and meminc.org. (for Memories Incorporated - my new non profit set up for this kind of thing).

No website set up yet for them. Learning to use the new Salesforce licenses I got first.

Anyone remember the SportsPage club around 1971 that Mike Ditka was a partner in ownership? Many great times.

I moved to Dallas in 1987. Central was a two lane highway, with traffic lights at the end of the on ramps (!) Victory was actually a lead contaminated wasteland and downtown was completely dead by 6pm. There was a dive bar by SMU "The Icehouse" and further down was "O.F. Sicily's" and "Cardinal Puffs".

I'm glad that Central Expressway got re-done in the 1990s, long before I moved here. I'm betting that driving on Central Expressway in the 1990s was a quite unpleasant experience. I moved here right around the time that the massive 635 reconstruction started (2011-2015) and I did not like using 635 during that time. 635 still isn't all that great post-reconstruction.
