Here is a thread with some information about Castle Hills - //www.city-data.com/forum/dalla...ewisville.html. There is a new gated section being built that has garden homes starting from around $300k. You can also look on the main web site for the development Castle Hills - Custom Home Builders in Dallas, TX - Community of the Year - it can point you to the builders in that section (look for The Reserve on the main page).

Lots of walkable areas, either via sidewalk or a dedicated trail that winds through the neighborhood. In the thread I referenced above, I've posted some pictures of the neighborhood:

Would you be interested in active adult communities (55 and over)? There is Frisco Lakes with homes ranging from the high 100s to the mid 400s... a master planned community with walking trails and more...

There is also Robson Ranch just north of Denton another one.

What price range to do you want to stay within?

Hi fmwalk

You can check out the "reserve at castle hills" . They have garden/patio homes in that community built by American legend homes and david weekley. We liked some of their floorplans...you might want to check those out!

Thanks saumya,Triumptofthespirti and nsumner for all the information. Castle Hills looks lovely. I glanced through the MLS list of Castle Hill homes for sale and they are beautiful but larger than I want. There are currently 80 homes for sale so Castle Hill must be a large development.

Frisco Lakes is an option. I don't live in the area now but I'd like to drive around that area to check out the conveniences. I love the trails.

I lived in Carrollton and worked in Lewisville many years and hope to move back to Dallas. I saw the postings on the other thread regarding the home foundation problems. I know it can be a major problem, very expensive plus difficulty selling the home. I had 2 inch separations around windows, etc. Engineers told me foundation issues normally surface within 10 years on homes with problems. My house was 7-8 years old when it happened. Fortunately, I had a 10 year warranty but had to take legal action to settle. Very stressful plus the foundation pier work was so stressful, I won't even go there. I don't know if builders still offer 10 year warranties but recommend looking for one.

Most builders do offer the 10 year structural warranty.
