We've had similar threads, and I do want to thank those responsible for the Kellie's Eastside for burgers. Went on Saturday after golf and it was great.

But this is just your fave Big D restaurants of all kinds. Tell us what and what's good there!

Some of my faves:

La Duni
(south american fare, great carne asada, don't forget 4 leches cake!)

Been to Bob's Steak and Chop, III Forks, The Mansion...but strangely we consistently get better prepared steaks/sides at
Texas Land and Cattle

Good variety of yummy Thai food at
Mango Thai

The Keg
Just a cool place to hang and get some prime rib or regular bbq ribs.

Zorba's at Plano Pkwy and Preston. Wow. Great gyros.

Enjoyed a great variety of tapas at
Malaga's Cafe.

Fill me in, folks, so I can fill me up!

Feelin your pain

There are TOO MANY of my "favorites" around Dallas.

Mexican/Tex-Mex:
Matt's in Lakewood for great margarita's, Bob Armstrong Dip, Steak Fajita's, etc.
Casa Milagro in Garland/Richardson. Brisket Tacos, KILLER margarita's, bean soup. EVERYTHING.
Desperado's - their Desperado Tacos.
Luna de Noche - good margarita's and tasty food. GOOD hot sauce.
El Fenix - the one downtown is good. They have THE BEST chips anywhere. The right texture, served warm & crispy. And chewy pralines.
Blue Mesa - BRUNCH!
Gloria's

Steak - I LOVE a good steak no matter where as long as it is melt in my mouth tender, medium rare, good flavor (no SAUCES!), etc. Surprisingly, the 6 oz Sirloin at Texas Roadhouse is very tasty and I'm usually a Filet Mignon girl. They have darn good Chili as well. Oh, I AVOID Outback - YUCK!

Italian:
Sicilano's in Garland. KILLER rolls (make a meal out'em). Chase w/ a bottle of mouthwash.
Napoli's in Garland. Again, KILLER rolls.
Campisi's.
Two Guy's From Italy - have not had that in YEARS.

Burgers:
Kellers Drive-In
The Dairyette
Jake's
Kelly's Eastside - good tacos, nachos, margarita's, queso w/ spicy beef. Oh, and their Chicken Fried Steak is supposed to be very good and they have jalapeno cream gravy for those that like it.

Seafood:
Fishmongers in Plano - they have been around for years. Good gumbo.
Boudreaux's in Richardson - tried the other day and pretty decent Cajun.
MISS Cajun Catfish in Rockwall - LOVED their hushpuppies
Fish City Grill
Flying Fish

BBQ:
Big Daddy's Roadhouse up between Lavon and Wylie - DANG GOOD!
Red, Hot & Blue - for the Memphis style
MY OWN
Rick's in Garland

Home Cooking:
Babe's - biscuits and sorghum.
Mama's Daughters Diner - an institution

Other:
Purple Cow - the BEST Club Sandwich ever.
Victory Tavern - good "upscale bar" food.
Humperdink's - like their Cuban Sandwich.
Master Grill - Brazillian "all you can eat" feast of meat - TRY THE PINEAPPLE!

Okay, I'm hungry. Good thing I have a roast w/ potatoes and carrots in the oven.

Super Mercado Mexico #4 on Columbia and Beacon in East Dallas has the best tacos I've ever tasted.

Another East Dallas gem is Divino's on Gaston. Get a huge greasy slice of delicious pizza for real cheap. Used to be in a tiny little joint reminiscent of a NY pizza place though they've moved across the street for a little better look.

La Calle Doce has great mexican food (east dallas or oakcliff)

Hector's on Henderson- if you haven't been yet hurry.

Gold Rush Cafe (skillman and live oak) actually right down the block from La Calle Doce, some of the best breakfast around. A funky neighborhood diner full of regulars.

Its kind of up scale but they have the best sushi anywhere. Really nice atmosphere and great food.

And I agree with 90% of your recomendations momof2dfw. Especially Moma's daughters. I go there for lunch sometimes and its great!
