How much different is this transition going to be?

I'm 26... will be working in Plano.

I know I'm going to get plenty of hate for being a Phoenix Suns fan but that's beside the point

I'm fairly used to the 100+ degree weather but not so much the humidity. We tend to have 6-7 crap-tastic months of a hair dryer blasting in your face as soon as you step outside and the rest are pleasant. How long are the summers there? How many pleasant months?

What is there to do for night life. I'm big about good multi-cultured dive bars where I can drink/shoot pool/ dance if some lady asks/ listen to good music / and just shoot the ***** with friendly people... I'm not a club type of person so no upscale clubs. Also, I don't listen to a whole lot of country or western as I'm more into Rock/Metal/Rap/Hiphop.

Outdoor activities? Is there a lot of boating/wakeboarding around the area? I see from Google Maps that there are a few lakes nearby.

Quads/Dirt Bikes? Where to go?

Lastly, how far is the nearest mountain to go snowboarding? <-- sounds stupid but just out of curiosity. =)

Then you will be fine. This week and most of last was WONDERFUL!!! We do get a lot of wind though. Last year was had more higher than normal days in the summer but overall we have far more better days than we do bad days. Winter is nice, this year it was colder for much longer than normal.

Greenville Ave in Dallas, places like Suede, Ozona, Blue Goose, etc will be probably what you are looking for. Even Fox & Hound locations are pretty lowkey and can be fun. You'll find plenty. Get a copy of the Friday edition of The Dallas Morning News paper and check out the Guide section.

Last year we were in a bit of a drought and less than avg rainfall and the lake levels plummeted. Most boat ramps were closed as they were dry. Closest lakes for you will be Lewisville Lake (Lake Dallas for us natives ), Lake Grapevine and Lake Ray Hubbard.

Quads/Dirt Bikes? Where to go? I believe there are a few places to go. Our neighbor from Ca. has a dirt bike and has said he found a few places around. Might try googling for any more info.

Lastly, how far is the nearest mountain to go snowboarding? A LONG DAYS DRIVE!!!!! New Mexico: Red River & Angel Fire. Colorado: Keystone, Breckenridge, etc.

The weather today, and especially tonight, is incredible.

If I could have even a month of this weather a year, I'd never leave.

Well, until one of those Tornadoes came around :-)
