I have yet to actually be out on Cedar Springs at night. Because I'm still new to the neighborhood, I still am not sure it's safe for me to be walking around at night over here. The street lights seem pretty dim - other than that block with all the bars.

If you are alone, you might be better off taking a cab from where you live over to Cedar Springs. When you are ready to leave, there are almost always cabs waiting outside of the bars. In reference to your earlier post, yes, TMC is the one with the big patio out front on the corner of CS @ Reagan.

You should be safe alone, just act like you know where you are and don't let any stranges hassle you.

As far as getting into S4, just line up for admission, pay at the door. There's not a lot of action before 11 p.m. and warms up pretty nicely after midnite. There isn't usually an admission charge for the other bars. And don't miss the Round-Up. Puts a whole new perspective on two steppin.
