My wife and I are interested in moving to Highland Village in March. As we were looking at the map online, we noticed that there's a railroad going right across it. Does that cause any inconvenience for the residents as far as noise and traffic are concerned??

I know several people who live right near the railroad in HV - I actually live about 1/3 mile from it. There is very little effect on traffic, maybe a short wait if you meet one, but I believe they only come through about twice a day. There is little railroad traffic through here. Depending how close you are, you will hear the whistle (& rumble if you're close enough). I have a friend that lives about 200 yards from those tracks in HV - she says they were "used to it" in about a month and it doesn't bother them. As for me, (1/3 mile away) - NEVER a bother.

I don't know about the railroad issue but I will say I love the Highland Village area.

I lived in Highland Village for over 6 years and we were about 1/4 mile from the railroad tracks. You hear the train horns once in a while at 2am but Highland Village is such a great place to live and raise kids that I would still recommend it. Obviously, the further from the tracks the better.
