Hi, we are looking at relocating to Texas. We have 3 young boys - ages 2 - 10. We are looking for a nice, safe, community with good schools. Housing around $300K. My husband would be commuting from the Love Field area of Texas. We are looking at Flower Mound or Grapevine. Does anyone know what the commute would be like? Any suggestions on nice neighborhoods? We are looking for a younger, active community. Thanks.

If those were the only 2 choices, I would pick Grapevine. The commute would be much easier to Love Field. Any particular reason only those 2 areas? Are you open to suggestions? Schools are nice in both areas btw. It's just that Flower Mound is very limited on how to get in and out of it.

Default Open To Suggestions

Hi, I am open to suggestions. These were two communities I found just by searching the web. They seemed to offer what we were looking for.

Flower Mound, Grapevine, Coppell, and Colleyville would fit your needs. Maybe Plano or Frisco as well, but that would be a longer commute.

Coppell is just east of Grapevine and is one of the nicest communities. The schools are top notch. Richardson is an older city and has newer or older neighborhoods. The schools are good too. There is a part of Dallas called Lake Highlands that feeds into the Richardson schools.

Note that schoold districts here overlap the cities. So you can live in one city such as Richardson and the neighbohood could be zoned for Garland, Richardson or Dallas ISD.

Colleyville is very nice but would be outside your price range.

Are you moving from Ann Arbor by any chance?

Grapevine will have an easier commute than Flower Mound. Hubby and I have lived here for 6+ years now and we love it. The community is great and the city services are wonderful. Schools here are excellent, too.

you would use 114 coming out of Grapevine and I-35 E if you were coming from Flower Mound--114 is probably the better road--
but depending on wher eyou were in Flower Mound--the time could be about the same

agree that lots of towns in area could offer much of what those two do--but for the price Grapevine is probably best
just watch area around Mustang Drive
