I will be moving in a few months to Dallas due to job transfer. Would like anyone's opinion on:

Mesquite, Balch Springs, Rockwall, Rowlett, Garland.

Overall are these good places to live? Concerned about safety more than anything.

To reiterate:
1)All the these areas are close to my new job so that is not an issue.
2)Our children are not school age so that is not a concern.
3)We will be renting looking to pay from 1,000 to 1,500 monthly.

Thank you.

In order I would choose:
1) Rockwall
2) Rowlett
3) Garland
4) Mesquite
5) Balch Springs (I have never been to Balch Springs, but have never heard anything good about it.)

I agree with Far North Dallas on the rankings and comment. I could go 1-2 or 2-1 on Rockwall and Rowlett.

I would rank them as

1. Rockwall
2. Rowlett
3. Garland (northern portion)
4. Mesquite (eastern portion)

Rockwall is the best for sure. Garland, Mesquite and Rowlett could be interchangeable depending the area's you choose. I would not even consider putting Balch Springs on the list.

Thanks for the ranking. This will help a lot when I'm looking at places. Appreciate it.
