We are thinking of buying a house and we have already agreed on price. But there is slight issue with foundation and structural report suggests placing two pears under the wall. Could you please suggest whether or not it is recommended to buy this house? Appreciate you prompt responses in advance.

I'd say the majority of the houses in north texas that are on slab foundations have had or need foundation work. Is there something about the house that suggests that the foundation might get worse like large trees close to the foundation? That would be my only concern. Also, I would suggest working with the current homeowners and ask them to split the cost or maybe even pay for all of it.

agree with nsummer--need more info and there is no slight issue with foundations of homes in this area...
don't let the homeowners or the RE agent tell you that--this is something that might be less sever than other foundation problems that homes can have...but never SLIGHT --
is this home old enough to have PIERS with the first floor built over the ground on top of the piers or is it an inground/slab "floating" foundation which has no sub-terranian piers to support the slab...
who did the estimate of work -- a true engineer or foundation company the seller provided
who did the inspection of the house--a home inspector or someone with more engineering credentials...

how can you have agreed on a price if you know there is foundation work to be done...
