Hi all,
My oldest will be three this year and I want to get her into swimming lessons fairly soon. Can anyone recommend a place where they've had success with young children? I'll drive almost anywhere if it's good. Back in MN we had a highly regarded swim school that started as young as six months and had excellent instructors that worked with parents and children to turn them into water babies.

This is hugely important to me since I regard swimming as both fun exercise and survival skill. I've been swimming since I was two and I don't want my children to be afraid of the water ... especially if we have a pool.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

We really like Emler Swim School. They have several locations. We use the one at Preston/Forest. We have also used Dolfin Swim with a lot of success (Dallas swim school – kids swim lessons). They taught my 2 year old how to swim really well! I like the two week/every day format. The only problem with Dolfin is that the pools are outside so you have to do the whole sunscreen thing and worry about the weather.

I've also heard good things about the programs at Tom Landry Center.

MSPMom - where are you located? I know there are several places in Plano, Allen, McKinney that might fit the bill.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll look into these. I'm temporarily staying in Rowlett but moving somewhere in Dallas in the next couple months.

I drive Hwy 26 through Hurst/Colleyville/Grapevine a lot--thought I saw a sign on the Emler bldg that said it was for sale...
Is it going to move anticipating all the work due to happen on Hwy 26 that would cut down its business...have not seen anything in FTW paper about it or heard anyone mention it...
but it is quality operation...lots of small children have learned to swim there or gotten over their fear of the water...
