Hello,
My family will be moving to Dallas in the next month or so. I will be working downtown. I am not familiar with the area and just don't know where to start looking for a home. I don't mind commuting in. But would rather live close to downtown. I need something under 200,000. Can anyone tell me what the commute is like from the various communities around Dallas?

Are you looking for a single family home, a townhome or a condo? Do you have children who will be attending public school? How many bedrooms do you need? If you can expand on your needs, you'll probably get some good suggestions. Commuting can be hard if you live too far out, but we do have an expanding light rail system (DART) that makes commuting easier if you live along any of the routes (they all end up downtown).

Are you willing to take mass transit to work. I would say most commutes are between 30-45 minutes from the burbs to Downtown during rush hour.
