Where is the better place to buy for a couple retiring: The Shores,
Chandlers Landing or Buffalo Creek? We want to be active and meet
people.

The Shores - golf course, country club, tennis, swim, along the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. Many different housing styles in the area. Older custom ranch, 5-15 year old tract homes by different builders, a few new ones and new custom homes. Nice area.

Chandlers Landing - older area w/ smaller lots for the most part. Marina but no golf course or such within the community. Townhomes also in this area. Some lake lots as well.

Buffalo Creek - the newest development of the 3 with a nice golf course and club house. Pretty much all custom homes throughout the community. Some smaller "patio type" homes in one section.

They all 3 have a different feel. I would not rule out one over the other. I'd look at homes in the price range your in that are in all 3 and find the one that feels right for you. Go out to each in the late afternoon and early evening and park and take a walk through the community and see how it feels. Stop by the club houses and such during the day and find out what is going on. Play a round of golf on both courses and see how it feels from that vantage point.
