Are there any recycling centers that pay you for bringing in glass and plastic bottles in the Metroplex?

Not sure about other cities in the metroplex, but the City of Irving seems to have a twisted version of what you're asking for. Check this link: Cashless Buy Back

However, the # of bottles/cans etc you need seems very large. Check with Plano since I've heard they have a good recycling program.

As an aside, there's a bill that is making its way through congress. It would create better recycling programs for all states (similar to what already exists in California and many other states).

Took my recycling up to the Allied Waste recycling center in Plano (not enough for the Irving center). They don't pay, but it was still a good facility at which to recycle - very easy.

When I lived in Corpus Christi, there was a recycling center that paid money for your goods-to-be-recycled (with no minimum requirements, so it was reasonable for an individual such as myself). I don't need an incentive to recycle - I do so anyway - but in these economic times, I feel like I should take every opportunity to make some money and build up a rainy-day fund.
