I think the prairie around Dallas has a certain beauty to it that gives a feel of the wide open west and wild frontier of the old west. Its a different type of pretty landscape. I really appreciate all forms of landscapes and find the beauty in them. If everywhere looked the same that would be even more boring. I do think the Dallas area has a lot more trees than people give it credit for and no they are not all planted by humans. A lot have been, but a lot have not. The mixture of greenery and wide open space gives it a unique feel for a big city. I like it.

I'm not from Dallas, or anywhere in North Texas. Actually I'm not from Texas at all. I did work temporarily in the Dallas area once for a few months, had an apartment in an area I think they called Las Colinas which as I recall was in the city of Irving ? I know many people might find that kind of flat praire country ugly, but like your great grandpa I liked it.

I don't get that feeling till I'm in Fort Worth & points west. Dallas feels more Midwestern to me. Almost like an overgrown OKC.

North Texas in general is pretty much Baja Oklahoma from Ennis on north to Gainesville. Same type of landscape...sparse tree coverage with short canopies, gently rolling terrain, wide open farm land/grasslands, turns completely brown in the winter time, etc. etc.

There it is again.

Where's this "overgrown OKC" coming from? OKC's more like a smaller Fort Worth, if anything.

Notice I said almost.

What would a better comparison be? Kansas City? Chicago?

North Texas' ties to Oklahoma are much greater than you could ever imagine & I'm not just talking football show downs.

Do you not realize OKC is building a tower right now that will almost be as tall as Dallas' tallest, BOA? Fort Worth has nothing nearly as tall.

I know all about the Devron Tower. And having ONE skyscraper over 600 feet tall doesn't make the city feel any more different.

Although I hate the comparison, OKC is more like Fort Worth than Dallas is like a smaller OKC.

You know enough about it to not spell it correctly.

Its Devon. There is no V anywhere in it.
