Anyone live in Frisco, but assigned to Lewisville ISD?

Frisco high schools are different because they are smaller, which I think is a definite positive. TAKS scores are irrelevant because they are so basic, ACT isn't commonly taken in Texas, and SAT and National Merit have very little to do with the student's high school curriculum and have more to do with natural intelligence and the early education of a child.

Frisco's biggest issue is that all of their high schools are brand-new except Frisco High, which is still in many ways transitioning from the small rural school it was even ten years ago to the large suburban high school it is now. They aren't far away from when they were the Fightin' Coons and didn't think that was an issue.

Hebron is racially diverse but it isn't particularly economically diverse--most of the kids, regardless of race, live in custom homes in upper-middle-class neighborhoods, so I'd keep that in mind. Lewisville High is really the most diverse school in the district, because of its economic diversity as well as its racial diversity, but it's also one of the two lower-performing schools in the district (plus, the Fighting Farmers haven't been quite so good on the gridiron of late).

If you had read my earlier post, I said, "If I wasnt concerned about that(diversity), I would probably choose Marcus or FMHS. So I am quite aware the their numbers are better than Hebron, but they are not diverse. We currently live in an area where the median income is $105,455 and the school is 70% white, 30% other (mostly black and asian). So I would like to keep the ethnic diversity, which Marcus, FMHS, and a lot of Frisco schools dont have. We are a Black family and the other school doesnt offer the mix that I like, along with the orchestra issue, which has been a nightmare, since most school districts in the DFW area dont offer it, or only offer it at certain schools. The lack of economic diversity is less important, my kids can go with the flow either way economically.

loneranger, forgot to mention that in fact the only houses in frisco in lewisville isd are assigned to hebron, not any of the other schools

I believe the Frisco houses feeding to Lewisville schools go to The Colony High School. THat would not be Hebron. You need to be around Hebron Parkway in NOrth Carrollton to be going to Hebron High School.

Here is the current boundary map from LISD (warning, large file ~8MB). It shows the boundary for Hebron to be everything south of 121 and a section of Frisco that includes Stonebriar country club, along with a section of Far West Plano including part of Hills of Prestonwood. There is a section of Frisco directly north of The Colony that maps to The Colony HS.

I stand corrected. That's a long commute for the kids in the Northeast part of the Frisco section to have to go to Hebron though.
