If you leave at 6:00am you should be good. If your schedule changes were you have to leave at 7 or later you will be in commuter hell both coming and going. That 1hr will make all the difference in the world (like doubling your commute time).

VERY true. I normally leave from Plano to downtown at 6:15am. If I leave after 6:30 it starts to get really slow.

Right now at 8:00am, it is taking 23 minutes to get from 75 & 190(Plano) to downtown Dallas via 75. And that is with 2 accidents between 190 and 635.

From 75 & 380(Central McKinney) to downtown Dallas is taking 39 minutes right now. And that is with an additional accident between 121 and 190.

From 121 and the Dallas north Tollway(Frisco) to Downtown Dallas via the DNT is taking 27 minutes right now.

This is all from WBAP and Traffic.com.

I would dispute those claims. I certainly would dispute them if there are 2 accidents on 75. I am sure members on this board who live in the area can confirm or deny this information.

You can dispute them all you want but your not going to gain anything. I think there might of only been accident because when I went to the TxDOT website, it only showed one accident (disabled vehicle) on 75. Still, these are CORRECT times. And Also, I live in this are for crying out loud!!!! I will post commute times on Monday morning as well from that website.

If you drive, there is an alternative to 75 should it be absolutely bottle-necked and that's Greenville Ave which runs parallel to 75 on the east side of the freeway. (changes name a couple of times). I used it frequently to travel to Walnut Hill and Central several years back when I commuted there from Plano. You can find lots of traffic on the freeway even at 6 am. The area around Dallas North Tollway and W Plano is really nice ($$$) compared to Central/75 ($$) which is older. The commute from these two areas is quite different and if it rains it changes

I personally prefer Ohio/Hillcrest as an alternate to 75. It doesn't get as crowded as Preston does and if there's lots of traffic on DNT or 75 it's pretty easy to zip up. It's pretty centrally located for Plano.

Who ever is coming up with those is smoking crack. Either that or it is 2 am on Sunday morning. Not a chance in the world you will get from 75 and 380 in McKinney to down town Dallas in less than an hour at 8am M-F. Hell sometimes it takes 30 minutes just to get from McKinney to Allen in the morning.

Or maybe you're just in denial on how long it takes. Geez...I would much rather get info from a factual website than just some random individual like yourself.

OMG! Are you kidding me! 30 minutes to get from McKinney to Allen?! What world are you living in! Haha!

I am so doing my commute to downtown Dallas from McKinney tomorrow since I already live in Frisco. Then I will post my commute time and then we will see what you all have to say.
