We are moving from Atlanta, Ga to Dallas in the fall. We would like to find an area that provides homeschool activities for middle and high school students. Any information on stable neighborhoods with homes in the low to mid $200's would be appreciated. Any area is a possibility since my husband is a sales representative and travels.

You might check these links. You will probably be able to find homeschool groups all over the area.

Try HOME SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION. They have a full 11-man football team and practice in Richardson.

Also, Coram Deo Academy | Private, independent, classical, Texas Christian school. With three campuses in Dallas/Fort Worth has many locations in the Metroplex and has multiple programs for homeschool students, allowing them to go to the school for electives and extracurriculars, etc. They're a little conservative for my taste but from my experience that's what most homeschool families are looking for.

Check out Frisco. There is several home school kids in our neighborhood and they all do activities together during the day. There would be many houses in nice neighborhoods in your price range!

Where are you from in Atlanta? I'm currently at Georgia Tech and will be moving to Dallas when I graduate.

I recommend any of the suburbs north of Dallas - plano, richardson,
frisco, allen, mckinney etc. These areas are chock full of support groups,
co-ops and activities.

I live in Lake Highlands and wished we lived further north. Not many
hsers in our area b/c of the strong elementary schools and my kid's
don't have many friends here. Most of our hser friends live in the
areas I mentioned above.

We recently moved to Plano and are homeschoolers (of much smaller kiddos) and have met a ton of other hs families that live either in Richardson or here in Plano. Be prepared, though - when non hs people find out you homeschool in the Plano school district, they act like you slapped their momma! LOL.
