I went thru Citizen's Police Academy and one of the officers said it would be very helpful if more people would hit the dome light and put their hands on the wheel on traffic stops after dark. Just because it is pretty iffy for the same reasons you gave.

I agree, the city of Dallas like most major cities have a budget shortfall. The police and the county constables have been ramping up on traffic violations. No warnings will be issued as long as the city is short on cash.

Default Buy your car model's front license plate bracket!

I don't want to read the many pages of replies, so apologies if someone already said this:

You won't have to drill holes in your bumper. Go to the parts department of a dealer who sells your brand of car and ask for your model's front license plate bracket. It probably has arms that go down and back and can be bolted into holes already drilled somewhere underneath the bumper. Since Texas is a two-plate state, the dealer will have had this request before, and since your model of car will have been shipped as a new car to all the two-plate states in the past, the manufacturer will have made a front plate bracket and pre-drilled the holes for it.

How about your kid gets run over by a hit and run driver, but they couldn't identify the vehicle because it didn't have a front license plate.

Some of you posters are incredibly whiny. "I am a law abiding citizen....except when it is inconvenient."

I bought my truck in Texas and it never had a front license plate bracket. I have been driving around for 4 years and only got pulled over for it once while I was near Abilene heading to the hunting lease. The cop gave me a warning.
